The Metz Mecablitz SCA-301 Adapter is wonderful for its capacity to "talk" to just about any camera as if it was the camera manufacturer's accessory flash itself.
The Metz Mecablitz SCA301 Adapter can be used safely with any flash shoe, hot or "cold", though if the shoe is "cold" you'll need to use either the 36-50 or 36-52 PC cord to fire your flash from the camera's PC socket. These are both listed here as recommended accessories.
